Wellness programme to promote and protect the mental health and well-being of our People.
The World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October and in this context, BDO Solutions has launched a 3R PROGRAMME (Recharge, Rejuvenate Reboot), with a view to value, promote and protect the mental health and well-being of its employees.
As per the World Health Organisation, ‘The COVID-19 pandemic has created a global crisis for mental health, fueling short- and long-term stresses and undermining the mental health of millions. Estimates put the rise in both anxiety and depressive disorders at more than 25% during the first year of the pandemic.’
Roshan Monohur, our Satefy and Health expert at BDO Solutions, stated that:
"On the occasion of the World Mental Health Day 2022, we are incredibly proud to launch the BDO Solutions 3R PROGRAMME - Recharge, Rejuvenate and Reboot. The mental health and well-being of our People rank high on our agenda. The aim of this programme is to help our colleagues alleviate any occupational, personal and academic stress-related adverse effects.
The pandemic has brought to the fore the issue of mental health. As a caring employer aiming at the right equilibrium, BDO Solutions has continued to encourage our People to operate using a hybrid work model which also promotes work-life balance. Moreover, as part of the 3R PROGRAMME, a series of initiatives have also been introduced:
- Adequate professional support to identify stressors and help in alleviating their impact
- A bouquet of wellness activities on office premises
- Off-site events at defined intervals.
Pink October
Our people are wearing pink in October, during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as a symbol of support and solidarity towards women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The objective of this initiative is to increase awareness and educate our People on the implications of breast cancer and how to prevent it. 23% of breast cancer cases are preventable and screening remains one of the most effective tools for early detection and prevention.
In this context, breast cancer screenings sessions are also being carried out for our employees every week during the month of October 2022.
